David is a senior public affairs and communications consultant with diverse expertise in areas including foreign policy, financial services and technology.
Following a decade of work with and for government, David now provides strategic counsel to help clients navigate issues that span policy, government, business and the media. He has worked on briefs in sectors including defence, technology, finance and the law, along with clients in the non-profit, tertiary and public sectors.
Before joining SEC Newgate, David was based in London where he led UK public policy for Square, an NYSE-listed payments company. He previously served as a policy adviser to the former Australian Foreign Minister the Hon Julie Bishop, and spent four years as an analyst and managing editor at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute. David established and led the Australia-Japan Youth Dialogue between 2016 and 2020.
He has previously been a Visiting Research Fellow at the National Institute for Defense Studies in Tokyo, a Young Leader with Pacific Forum in Hawaii and a Global Shaper with the World Economic Forum. He has been a delegate to the Australian-American Young Leadership Dialogue and the Australia-EU Emerging Leaders Forum, and is a past recipient of the Rob Chalenor Prize for Outstanding Young Strategic Leadership.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Management from The University of Queensland and a Master of International Relations from Griffith University.
