Emma is experienced in strategic communications, media engagement, crisis management and government relations gained from a decade of working with senior politicians in both media and policy advisor roles, in election campaigns in South Australia, and as a journalist and senior producer on commercial television networks for five years.
Before joining SEC Newgate, she was Head of Communications and Public Affairs at the Hospital Research Foundation Group – the largest non-government funder of medical research and patient care initiatives across all public hospitals.
She also worked for global defence prime, BAE Systems, supporting the business winning and prospect teams on significant Commonwealth bids and contract extensions, developing and executing complementary communications and media strategies across Australia and overseas.
She previously worked with ASX-listed mining company OZ Minerals Ltd. helping to build the Adelaide business, adding value to commercial and business objectives through external and internal communications strategies, stakeholder engagement and liaison with senior departmental and government representatives, both State and Federal.
Emma has delivered media training for corporate executives and senior politicians around Australia and has maintained a strong network of journalists and senior managers in news outlets across South Australia.
Her diverse background means clients benefit from in-depth communications, media and political insights with a strong South Australian focus. Emma also holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of South Australia.
