​Maria is a media and communications consultant with a deep understanding of community issues in regional and remote areas.

​Maria has worked with corporate, government and not-for-profit clients in sectors including energy, resources and tertiary education – helping to effectively manage community, stakeholders, social media and media on projects that directly impact the lives of people in the regions. In her time at SEC Newgate, her clients have included Endeavour Energy, Officeworks and the ACCC.

​Maria holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wollongong, majoring in Archaeology. This has involved working with Indigenous communities in remote areas of NSW and the Northern Territory, facilitating community-led and country-specific research on local culture and heritage. She is currently completing her Honours dissertation on Indigenous Archaeology and Social Justice through Flinders University.
