Max is a respected government and stakeholder engagement specialist with deep connections across business, media, and government.  

He is a trusted advisor on government relations, strategic communications,  stakeholder engagement, and issues management, helping clients navigate complex, high-profile challenges. 

Before joining SEC Newgate, Max spearheaded the revival of commercial talkback radio in Brisbane, building local broadcasters and programming for Australia’s largest media company. Under his leadership, the station grew to become the most locally focused in the market. 

Max previously worked in Sydney and Adelaide, where he built broadcasting teams and collaborated with some of Australia’s most prominent media talent. He also played a key role in national sports coverage for a major rights broadcaster. 

Max is a member of the committee for Brisbane and holds a Bachelor of Media and Communication from Queensland University of Technology.
