Karim is a seasoned strategic communications and engagement professional, with over 18 years’ experience designing, managing and delivering results-oriented programs to support complex projects both in Australia and globally.
With an emphasis on promoting collaboration across technical disciplines, he has a solid record of achieving community and stakeholder engagement objectives for projects with issue-rich environments and multifaceted stakeholder relationships. His diverse experience spans government, private, intra-governmental and not-for-profit sectors.
Karim has led the delivery of strategic engagement plans – from formulation through to implementation – for major critical infrastructure and essential services projects in the water, telecommunications, energy, mining and construction sectors. His clients have included WaterNSW, Ausgrid, NSW Telco Authority, Essential Energy, and NSW Department of Planning and Environment.
High profile projects include the proposed Warragamba Dam Raising, Public Safety Mobile Broadband, Burrawang to Avon Tunnel, and Sustainable Diversion Limit Adjustment Mechanism projects.
Karim holds a BSc in Architecture and MA in Political Science and Development. He is IAP2 certified and is a United Nations alumnus having worked for the UN for seven years internationally.
