Alistair is a strategic communications and government relations consultant with experience advising on market sensitive and high-profile issues in a corporate and public affairs setting.
Alistair has advised companies and executives across mining and resources, financial services, transport and tourism and the hospitality industry, providing advice with a focus on reputation management and organisational response.
Since joining SEC Newgate, Alistair has worked with listed and private companies on major company announcements and high-stakes public policy issues.
He has experience working on both buy and sell-side financial transactions. Alistair advised Whitehaven Coal on the acquisition of the Daunia and Blackwater metallurgical coal mines in Queensland and worked with the Suncorp Group in announcing the sale of its banking operations to ANZ for $4.9 billion.
Trusted by clients to develop and implement targeted advocacy and communication strategies, Alistair has also supported clients on foreign policy and diplomatic matters, supported international fundraising efforts and managed media relations on various regulatory, consumer and legal issues.
Prior to joining SEC Newgate, Alistair worked in-house for BOQ Group, supporting the Group’s internal and external communications, customer advocacy and community investment efforts.
Alistair holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Business (Public Relations) from the Queensland University of Technology.
